Harpist / Arranger / Writer
pushing boundaries with this instrument
📍 Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Hello! My name is Lishan and I am a Singaporean harpist currently living in Boston, Massachusetts. My love for the harp has spurred countless projects, performances and opportunities internationally, and I work towards showcasing this beautiful instrument in new, different and unexpected ways.
My most recent projects include being the 2022 Borromeo String Quartet Guest Artist, and attaining the Excellence Performance Award for “Crossing” by Phang Kok Jun together with harpist Karen Tay at the 2021 RH Prestige Awards. I have also been awarded Honorable Mentions for the 2020 Brookline Symphony Orchestra's and 2019 Boston Conservatory Orchestra's Concerto Competition. My YouTube shenanigans of recreating video game sounds from "Among Us" on the Harp is currently at 2.19 million views.
I began my harp journey at the age of 13, and have since trained at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Royal College of Music and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with Dr June Han, Ina Zdorovetchi and Huang Yu-Hsin. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Musical Arts at the New England Conservatory under Boston Symphony Orchestra harpist Jessica Zhou.
